A Nod to Torquere

Torquere Press are celebrating their 8th anniversary in September. Torquere published the first erotica book I read, two short years ago - Chris Owen's Bareback

I thought it would be a good idea just to pimp my own stories with them.

Prey TimeTwo men are checking Jeff out before he even enters the club. They're a real pretty picture, Blue Eyes with his back pressed against Green Eyes' chest as they watch him get a drink. He waits to see what they do. If they want him, he'll play, but first they have to ask nicely. Jeff is the top, the one in control. Except Jeff soon finds out he isn't. The little man with the snapping blue eyes is definitely the puppet master here.

Mr. Plum: Dave picks up coffee every morning at the train station on his way to work. He can't help but notice when the man in front of him is given a plum-colored cup holder, as it goes perfectly with his own tie. There are other things he can't help but notice, like how hot "Mr. Plum" is.

Twisted Creature: Homeless and unemployed, Chris is tired, hungry and soaked to the skin. He finds an empty house to shelter in, and settles in, waiting for the rain to stop. Just like Chris, this house holds a secret. Finding a yellowing newspaper, he discovers the house was scene of a double homicide, the death of a gay couple ten years previously.

Going to sleep in the derelict house, Chris wakes up to the sight of a gorgeous man standing over him, offering him breakfast. A dead guy is offering him breakfast, cooked by his equally gorgeous, equally dead partner in a house that is no longer ruined. Can he accept the offer, even though he knows it's wrong?

Welcome to... Jianne Carlo

I'm breaking out of the mould and welcoming Jianne Carlo to my blog today. If you're alert and have had enough caffeine, you will notice there is a lady on the cover, and I have to say, I love the light and shadows of the cover of Deviant Devil. Read down to the end for details of a contest to win a copy of Deviant Devil on Jianne's site.

Was there a particular author or book that made you decide you wanted to write in the genre?  If so, who or what was it?

Definitely. When I first started reading romance, I read Lisa Marie Rice’s Midnight series. And I fell in love with whole SEAL profession. I freely admit to being obsessed with BUD/s, SEALs, Paratroopers, any hunky military man. I think I’ll always  have a military track going.
A Paratrooper in a Pear Tree was my first foray into the genre. Somehow my devious mind came up with SEALs cross-trained to be master parachutists, who do charity acrobatic jumps across the country when they’re not on a mission.  They call themselves, The Hades Squad, and their names are Satan, Sinner, Devil, Demon, and Lucifer.
Deviant Devil, my current release is Book #3 in the series. I’m currently working on Demon Seed, Book #4.

Where do you normally write?

In the TV room with a Law and Order, or Iron Chef America, or The History Channel, playing in the background.  Recently, I added Unecessary Roughness and Suits to my background playlist.

Where did you get the inspiration for the story?

Devil’s tale came about because of an interaction between him and Jessica Blaine in Lucifer’s Choice. The chemistry at that conference table was palpable.

How did you come up with the title?

Devil’s ornery and walks to the beat of a different drummer than most people. Sexually and socially, he knows what  he liked and doesn’t give a damn what anyone else says. He’s a deviant devil.

Where did you get the names for your characters?

Oh gosh, I don’t know where in heck I got their names from. In one scene in Paratrooper, Sinner’s on the radio and all of a sudden they were there.
I’ll tell you, though, that while their nicknames came easily, I had a devil of a time coming up with their real names, especially Demon’s.

What is the most interesting piece of research you’ve done so far?

I took a Viking course from The Learning Company – absolutely fantastic. I found out you can play the DVDs on my gym’s treadmill. You know that sign gyms have up about a 30 minute limit…I’m a chronic offender…the courses are 45 minutes long.

How long did it take to get the story published?

I did up Deviant Devil’s synopsis, the first couple of chapters, and submitted it. We agreed to a few changes and Loose-Id set a release date. All in all – maybe two weeks.

What writing projects do you have on the go at the moment?

Demon Seed – Hades Squad, Book #4
2.     A contemporary erotic mystery – as yet untitled
3.     White Wolf Woman – a prequel to White Wolf published in 2009

What advice would you give a new writer?

Never give up. Listen to your gut.

Where can we find you on the ‘net?

Jianne's Biography

I’m an Iron Chef America and Law and Order addict who loves to cook, eat, and read. I wish you could burn a ton of calories being sedentary and eating. Don’t you? If only…

Married for 34 years to an amazing man who still astounds me every single day, I’m also the proud mama of three fantastic sons, all of whom are now of legal age. Now if only they’d stop changing majors in college.

Growing up on the Caribbean island of Trinidad where the population is representative of almost every race and nation on the planet, multiculturalism oozes from my pores.

Alpha males, strong heroines, exotic locations, and cultural differences are my forte.

I’m travelling the world through my books. From Manacled, which is set in Monaco, to D is for Desire (set in Trinidad at Carnival time), to White Wolf in rural Washington, to A Paratrooper in a Pear Tree, set outside of Denali National Park in Alaska, to Dark Chocolate Side of the Moon in Sleeping Dog, Texas, and then to Norway in 1028 AD.

My writing career began in 2008. Since then I’ve been fortunate enough to have fifteen books published. Right now there are six manuscripts in progress.

One of the most rewarding aspects of writing is hearing from readers, and nothing makes my day more than an email from someone who’s read one of my books. I love to hear what tickles someone’s fancy. So far, I’ve heard from readers from almost every continent on the planet. Almost…

Deviant Devil Blurb:
Devil pulled the auction card from the envelope and read, “One blowjob in a private room. Condom mandatory. Touching only on my part."
The last person Devil expects to see in a BDSM club is the best friend of his buddy’s new wife, Jessica Blaine -- the all-American, apple-pie woman he wants so badly it’s her face he's seen every orgasm for the last nine months.
Is she playing? Exploring? Tough; she’s on his turf now, she’s put herself up for auction, and by God she’s his for the night.
Jess is scared spitless. She’s going to suck off the man who may have killed Aung, the college student she mentors and who vanished three weeks earlier. When the wrong man, a masked stranger, wins the auction, she has no choice but to proceed. Horrified when she not only responds to the masked stranger, but climaxes, Jess flees.
Devil lets her go fully intending to reel her in. His way.

Deviant Devil Excerpt:

“I believe you owe me a blowjob, Cheetah.”

Demon’s words shot a spinning spike into his head. Devil’s reflexes kicked in, and he whirled around ready to deck his best friend. Demon trapped and held Devil’s gaze, and mouthed, Get your shit together.

Right, she’d intended to suck some other a-hole’s dick. He owed Demon big time for the reminder.

Devil paced the now empty viewing area for exactly nine minutes and thirty-five seconds before his patience snapped. Close enough to the time he and Demon had agreed upon. His long strides consumed the distance to the private playroom. He punched in the security code and slithered into the darkened chamber.

The night-light inserted into a low-lying outlet barely illuminated the three feet closest to the door. Using hand signals the two men communicated quietly, Demon left, and Devil secured the room. The soundproofed interior stifled even the air conditioner’s humming, and in the eerie quiet, the sound of Jess’s rasped breathing thundered.

He stood still and looked his fill.

As instructed Demon had her kneeling on the soft carpet, blindfolded, arms stretched wide, and the silk bonds on her wrists connected to rings attached via a long arm to the walls. She had her head cocked to one side. Even in the dim lighting the robe hid none of her charms, and the outline of her curves, the shadow between her thighs had his pulse doing erratic leap-frogs.

Adjusting the dimmer of the overhead lights so he could feast on Jess’s responses and fine-tune his strategy, Devil circled her kneeling form. The fury he’d managed to dam detonated and erupted. Molten lava replaced his blood. He stood there inhaling liquid fire, repeating SEAL breathing exercises until he regained control, and assumed his Dom mode.

“I didn’t agree to this.” Her voice wavered, but she lifted her chin in defiance. “I agreed to a blowjob.”

Devil pulled the auction card from the envelope and read, his accent now pure Bostonian. “One blowjob in a private room. Condom mandatory. Touching only on my part.”

She exhaled, her uneven breathing a sonata to his ears.

“That’s right. Exactly right.”

He pulled out his switchblade, slit her robe down the middle, and stifled a hiss as the material parted to reveal creamy skin, the swells of her breasts, a flat belly he dreamed of, pale golden curls framing the treasure between slender thighs.

Squatting so their faces were level, he drank in the sight of her: the long elegant neck, the delicate line of her jaw, the cock-stiffening perfume peculiar to only this woman. A finger’s width separated their noses, Devil knew she felt his closeness, waited for him to respond, and he let the silence stretch relishing the short puffs of minty breath escaping her pouting mouth.

“What are you doing?” She tugged furiously at the silk bonds holding her arms wide. “I demand a witness. I’m allowed that. Those are the rules.”

“This is what you didn’t specify. Clothing, position, restraints.” Devil checked his watch. “Forty-five seconds have elapsed. I can keep you here as long as I want until I come in your mouth, latex covered as specified.”

She’d lost all color and those porn-fantasy lips he lusted after quivered. When she opened her mouth, he said, “Listen carefully because there are two ways this can go down.”

Cutting the sleeves of the robe he continued, “I can hold you to the literal translation of the card. You can invite a witness to make me adhere to the rules.”

What remained of the robe floated to the floor, Jess shivered, her nipples were a shade darker than her rose lips, and they pearled and puckered.

A shudder wracked through him. He sat back on his heels, the leather pants squeezed his cock and testicles harder than any vise he’d ever tried. Devil closed his eyes, went through the SEAL breathing sequence yet once again until blood-flow restored baseline brain functions.

Stick to the plan.

“I can and will keep you here for the rest of the night. I don’t have to let you out of this room until I get what I paid five thousand dollars for. A blowjob. I can go for hours without coming.”

Her sinful mouth tightened into a pucker. She snorted. “And the other way?”
