Sue's Muse: Silver Publishing

Over the past few days various attacks have been made on the way a group of Silver authors, myself among them, has been collectively keeping quiet and supporting Silver Publishing through its current difficulties. I'm not going to link to those blogs. If you want to find the posts, that's up to you.

We had agreed to talk to each other, rather than the world, but as often happens, that decision was taken away from us.
My reasons for supporting Silver Publishing are simple.
Firstly, Silver was one of the first publishers to give me my start in publishing and I can never thank them enough.
Secondly, if the company folds, I will not receive the money I am owed.
Thirdly, I do not like mob mentality. I've supported another of my publishers and various people against mob mentality this year, and will continue to do so.

My world has opened up thanks to Silver Publishing and my other publishers. I managed to get through my degree on my royalties, and as a single mum, trying to study, look after my family and work, it meant I could be at home rather than away when the kids came in from school. If you've got kids you'll know how important that really is.

I'm not going to say much more than this. Neither will I discuss the situation with people who aren't directly affected. Silver Publishing has a fine stable of authors, and I wish them and the company much success for the future.
