Giveaway: Hairy Harry's Car Seat

Hairy Harry's Car Seat is coming out this weekend. I have a giveaway of my new novella for you.

Peter Mitchell walked away with from his marriage with two things: a suitcase and Hairy Harry, the family pet.
When Harry becomes ill, Peter is faced with one of the hardest decisions he's ever had to make... saying goodbye to his best friend.
Evan Wells is the locum vet who attends to Harry and Peter is surprised at how quickly they become friends. Peter finds himself looking forward to Ethan's phone calls and the meals they share together. He knows Evan is gay but it doesn't bother him until Evan confesses his attraction to him. Peter has to admit to himself that he's not as adverse to the possibility as he thought he would be, and that does bother him.

Leave me a comment here on my blog, with the name of your first pet. If you've never had a pet, make one up with the most ridiculous animal you can think of. I will pick the winner at 9am EST Saturday 19th.

The Giveaway is Closed. Congratulations to Urb.

Meet Kola, my doggy from my childhood. He was an old boy here.

  3. I had two first pets, got them at the same time. One was a grey persian named Rebel. One was a tabby who looked like Morris from the cat food commercials, her name was Honeybuck. Rebel would sit on you when you were sick and not get off you. Honeybuck liked spaghetti. They passed away when they were 19 and 20.

  4. My first pet was a cat named Snowflake. My brother and I got him for my mom for mother's day one year, probably around 1978-1979. He used to love hiding under the recliner and swat at your feet when sat in the chair (until you reclied it back). He did not like my boyfriend (who is now my hubby) AT ALL.

Sue, you'll have to ask Bill all about Snowflake sometime. LOL

Can't wait to read Hairy Harry's Car Seat.

    Hugs,
    Sharon

  6. My first childhood pet was Dandy, our Welsh Pembrokeshire Corgi. My first pet in a home of my own was Pippin, a little tabby cat. Since then, I've rarely been without a cat or five, or a dog - sometimes both.

  7. Congrats on the release! My first pet was my cat Rusty. My parents got her from the pound when I was 8 months old and she was mine ever since! We were best buds for years, she slept in my bed, 'let' me dress her up in my baby doll clothes, and carry her around in my doll stroller. I had her until she got kitty cancer when I was 17 and had to be put to sleep. Pets are so important and I am glad Hairy Harry is front and center in your book.

  9. My first pet I remember as a child was Nelson the one eyed goldfish. I won him at a fair and we all expected him to die but he didn't!. he actually lived to his teens and died in the garden pond one winter. I do remember having quite a menagerie when I was a kid tho. My first pet as an adult was Delilah the mouse, and after leaving home was a feral kitten called Marbles (because she'd lost hers) she lived to 19 and only died a few years ago :D

  10. My first pet was Nibbles whom passed away due to an Illness. :( He was named that because he always seemed to nibble on his food and took forever to eat It. Has been several years now, but he's still badly missed.

  11. Missy was the name of my first pet growing up.She was a Heinz 57 mix dog. She had a good bit of collie in her though as that is what she looked like. She had babies when I was about 6 months old and was killed when I was 14. She had a good long life.

  12. My first pet was a tom-cat named Purzel (Tumbles). He was a stray whom some visitors of ours let into the house, thinking he belonged to us and he never left till the day he was run over by a car. We were all devastated when it happened.

  13. My first pet was a beagle, whom we kids imaginatively named Princess. And she was. I still love beagles. We also had a stray tomcat (Kitty), serial goldfish, and cannibalistic hamsters. I still hate hamsters. Thanks!

  14. One night when I was around 16, a man drove by with this huge box in his car and asked me if I wanted a dog. I told him I'd have to ask my parents and went home (across the street). When I back outside the man had left the box with a badly shaped puppy inside. The poor Miniature Pinscher was covered in mange. I went back inside and told my mom what had happened and that I could not let the dog die. It was just a few weeks old so Toby became my good friend for many years to come until someone killed him. After that, I had a cat that my then husband rescued. I also brought this one to life. Pancho was a small kitten, completely dehydrated and almost lifeless. I stayed up all night giving him Pedialite with a dropper every thirty minutes. After seen no positive reaction I finally went to bed only to be awakened a few hours later by a lot of noise in the house. When I came out of the room the cat was jumping all over the house as happy as can be. It also hurt me horribly when he died. Ever since, I've never allowed myself to be attached to any other animals. Let alone adopt another one. I get attached too easily and deeply to my pets.

  15. Our first family pet that I can remember was a cat named Enis who died of feline Leukemia when I was about 4. Before him, my mom says we had a cat named Gaskin who choked to death on a baby bird. The first pet that was really all MINE, though, was a gorgeous HUGE black cat named Gumbo my junior year in high school. My mom found him in a ditch; he was unweaned so we had to feed him formula from an eyedropper, and a car had run over his tail so it had to be amputated. My mom took care of him (she was able to take him to work and feed him during the day) but he became attached to me, and was a vicious attack cat with everyone else. He was my cuddlybaby though, and would sleep all night under the covers snuggled up next to me. He disappeared a week or so before I left for college, and my parents found his remains a couple of weeks later hidden in a thicket of weeds. I was heartbroken. Currently, my husband & I have 2 dogs and 3 cats.

  17. oooh~ Sounds good! oh! I hope I win. lol...
Ah~~... my first pet... our beautiful cat Periquita. She was a Calico cat seriously just.... beautiful.

Sadly though, she was killed by a stray dog that got into our yard. I was in elementary school and up until high school, I really hated dogs to the bottom of my very soul. My poor baby.. She died protecting Belle (her daughter). Belle had a bite mark too but she was ok. It didn't get infected and healed nicely... I'll never forget finding Periquita in our front yard......
Sadly, Belle passed about a year or two ago. She was 18.

But I say Hated because about the time I graduated we got a small dog, Lady, and at least Belle and Lady were able to grow up together for some time. HAHA! It was funny at first because Belle wouldn't out right attack Lady but when Lady got close enough she was just stick her paw out and smack her! lol.... ahh... Good times... I miss her very much..
