Florida Judge Rules Ban On Same-Sex Marriage Unconstitutional

A county circuit judge has just struck down Florida's voter-approved ban on same-sex marriage. Florida same-sex couples, including the plaintiffs, will be allowed to marry starting Tuesday. The ruling applies only to Monroe County, which covers the [Florida] Keys.

Mayor Kimberley Driscoll I salute you! I'll leave her letter to give you the full details.

A tweet that says it all.

This boy has a wonderful dad for instilling qualities that will make him a well-rounded adult.

"Today you came home near tears because someone told you two gay people can’t get married because it’s wrong and gross. Your aunts are gay and your cousins — who you love with a wonderful ferocity — are a product of their very much legal marriage (Massachusetts has had gay marriage since 2004). When someone insults your family, it hurts. You hurt right now, and I’m sorry for that."

"My daughter is six years old. She transitioned, which means she changed her outward appearance from male to female and started living full time as her true gender, when she was four."

I'd like to end with a man who took his own life to protest against injustice. Slowly the internet is getting to know his name.

  1. I think it's wonderful that so many people are speaking up against LGBTQ bullying, and absolutely LOVE the mayor's response.
